Durch Bestrahlung mit Licht aus Festkörperlasern kann die Klebefestigkeit von Edelstählen deutlich erhöht werden. Dazu ist jedoch die Anpassung der Laserleistung auf das Material und die Geometrie der Oberfläche erforderlich. Die Bestrahlung hat bei Anpassung der Laserleistung keinen Einfluss auf die Festigkeitseigenschaften des Substrats.

Surface Activation Using Laser Radiation and Atmospheric Plasma for Surface Structuring Prior to Adhesive Bonding
By irradiation of a surface using a sold-state laser, the adhesive bondability of stainless steel can be significantly improved. To ensure best results, the laser output must be matched to the material in question and its surface geometry. Using the correct conditions, this process has no adverse effects on the mechanical properties of the substrate.
