Fehlerfindung bei der Kunststoffmetallisierung
Chrom an Fahrzeugen liegt im Trend und vermittelt dem Kunden Hochwertigkeit und Sportlichkeit durch galvanisch beschichtete Kunststoffe. Die Fehlerquellen bei der Kunststoffgalvanisierung sind sehr vielfältig, da der Prozess eine hohe Komplexität aufweist. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird gezeigt, dass durch eine präzise metallographische Auswertung eine sehr genaue Lokalisierung der Fehlerquellen möglich ist. Der zeitliche Aufwand dafür ist zwar nicht unerheblich, kann aber durch erfahrene Mitarbeiter deutlich reduziert werden und führt dann zu einem aussagekräftigen Ergebnis.

Troubleshooting in the Metallising of Plastics
Automotive chromium trim is once again in fashion, projecting to the buyer, an image of quality and sportiness. Metallised plastics are accepted as the best means of implementing such decor. However this process is a complex one, and can be subject to defects arising at any of the process stages. In this treatment, it is shown how, by means of precise metallographic assessment, the source of any defects can be identi?ed. Granted, such metallographic inspection requires a certain amount of time, but in the hands of experienced operators, can be reduced to a miniumum. The outcome of such examinations is then a powerful predictor of the cause of the problem.
