Am SHS-Center entwickelte, fortschrittliche Technologien, Materialien und Schichten
Am Scientific-Educational Center des SHS werden leistungsfähige und hochangepasste Schichten auf Basis moderner vakuumtechnischer Verfahren entwickelt. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Untersuchung von Schichten bei der Belastung mit Temperaturen bis über 1000 °C. Solche Schichten werden unter anderem für Hochleistungswerkzeuge verwendet. Ein weiteres Betätigungsfeld ist die Herstellung von bioaktiven Schichten und nanostrukturierten Oberflächen.

The SHS Centre: A Source of Advanced Technologies, Materials and Coatings
At the SHS Scientific Educational Centre, fit-for-purpose high-performance coatings based on modern vacuum deposition technologies are developed. The Centre has particular experience in such coatings for use at temperatures in excess of 1000 °C. Such coatings are also used, among other applications, for high-performance tools. Other areas in which the Centre has expertise include bioactive coatings and nanostructured surfaces.
