Selbstreinigung
Die Eigenschaft der Selbstreinigung von Oberflächen wird in erster Linie durch die Benetzungsfähigkeit bestimmt. Deshalb ist die Bestimmung des Kontaktwinkels ein wichtiges Kriterium zur Beurteilung der Selbstreinigungsfähigkeit. Je nach Behandlung der Oberfläche lässt sich heute eine sehr große Breite zwischen superhydrophob und superhydrophil reproduzierbar einstellen.

Self-Cleaning
The self-cleaning of surfaces is primarily a function of their wettability. It follows that contact angle measurements are a valuable tool for assessing the extent of self-cleaning. Depending on the surface treatment used, it is possible to create a broad spectrum of surface properties ranging from superhydrophobic to superhydrophilic on a reproducible basis.
