Eigenschaften und Potenziale von DLC-Schichten im Automobil-Aggregatbereich
Diamantähnliche Kohlenstoffschichten zeichnen sich vor allem durch die sehr guten Reibeigenschaften und die hohe Verschleißfestigkeit aus. In Kombination mit weiteren Ober?ächenbehandlungen oder durch die Auswahl von geeigneten Substraten lassen sich so extrem beständige Funktionselemente herstellen, bzw. bestimmte Bauteile erst mit der gewünschten Funktion und der erforderlichen Standfestigkeit herstellen. Dies wird unter anderem an Tassenstößeln für moderne Dieselmotoren aufgezeigt.

Properties and Potential Applications of DLC Coatings in the Automobile Industry
DLC - diamond-like carbon is noted largely for its good friction properties and high wear-resistance. In combination with other surface treatments and/or choice of the optimum substrate material, components with quite exceptional properties can be produced, capable of operation under extreme conditions. One such application is in valve tappets for modern diesel engines.
