Young researchers from all over the world are welcome in Chemnitz
For the first time Technische Universität Chemnitz offers a “Scientist in Residence Scholarship” with 2,000 Euro per month – Application deadline: October 31st, 2014. Technische Universität Chemnitz represents distinctively-profiled and outstanding research. Within three key research areas, "Smart systems and materials", "Energy-efficient production processes“ and "Human Factors in Technology", solutions for the challenges of tomorrow are developed. The main issues regarding economic and social developments are influenced by mega trends such as globalization, demographic change and the availability of resources.
„The profile of TU Chemnitz is characterized by the interaction of these key research areas and has generated a cross-interdisciplinary structure across eight faculties which is unique in Germany “, says Prof. Dr. Heinrich Lang, Vice-Rector for Research and Promotion of Young Scientists. To further promote research activities, particularly in the focus of "Human Factors in Technology", TU Chemnitz offers the “Scientist in Residence Scholarship” for the first time. The scholarship of 2,000 Euro per month will be awarded for two years, starting on April 1st, 2015. Outstanding young researchers from all over the world can apply with an innovative research project in this area for their guest stay in Chemnitz until October 31st, 2014. Applications must include a curriculum vitae, the description of the research project as well as three reports composed by internationally renowned scientists who comment on the planned project. A close connection between the young scientists to academic teaching is also explicitly welcomed.
